He studied and graduated at the Conservatory in Rotterdam.
He grew up in a musical environment which had a great influence on young Daniël, especially playing music in the church, where his father conducted a flute ensemble. As a youngster he got interested in music. His first music teacher Jonas Tahapary taught him also the basics on
the congadrums. From that period on Daniël knew that he wanted to become a conguero and percussion player. He was very determined
to achieve this goal. He wanted to know all about Latin-American percussion and collected the information from all kinds of books and articles concerning this subject. Daniël studied with many different teachers in the field before entering the Conservatory in Rotterdam in order to develop his musical skills even further. Contantly busy with music during the years developed more passion in his performances
as a percussion player/ drummer. This enthusiasm is present in his
player-act.
